XMPR Schedule

Filed under: General — Charlie Summers @ 12:22 am

I got so confused trying to read the new schedule I created my own, written in a text editor with no CSS or other non-HTML frills. While I’m pretty sure a text browser will barf on this, the darned thing even properly resolves in Netscape 4.5 from…what…1998? Now that’s what Tim Berners-Lee was talking about…

UPDATE: I’m slowly adding web links to the programs on the schedule; note that many of the public radio programs on XMPR have podcasts, downloadable files, or streaming audio copies of the shows, should you miss them. (And yes, I’m starting with the programs that interest me, and will get around to other ones later.)

[…] I got so confused trying to read the new schedule (hint: English reads from top-to-bottom), I created my own, written in a text editor with no CSS or other non-HTML frills and stuck it on a static page here on the blog. I don’t know how much time I’ll spend keeping it updated, but at least for now there’s something more easily-readable than the one on XM’s website… […]

Clearly, I pay more attention to the schedule than the folks at XM…I updated this calendar for the addition of RadioWest last Saturday. XMPR’s PDF-based schedule still shows This American Life in that slot.

    (*sigh*)

Seriously, this is like trying to hit a moving target. I’m trying desperately to keep up, but short of listening to the d*mned channel 24/7, there’s no way. I swear, it sometimes seems that the channel is on shuttle…

  7. Charlie Summers Says:

They have apparently, without warning or promotion, decided to change their entire weekend schedule. All of the programs I record overnight Sat/Sun have either moved or changed…I’ll see if I can track some of this down, but thanks to XMPR’s constant desire to make sure no one bothers to listen to their channel, this schedule page will be, for now, incorrect.

    More as I know it…

EDIT 12:03PM: No bloody wonder their new schedule crashes the browser…they (why do I say “they” when I mean “he?”) uploaded the .XLS file as a .PDF…the Acrobat plugin is having a coronary trying to open it. (Thank heavens for linux, where you can do anything on a simple command line without having to battle GUI applications…)

Anyway, I’ll see if I can synch their schedule to mine sometime later today…at least you’ll be able to read this one…
