Running - No, the Good Kind, with Christopher McDougall

Filed under: Radio Today, Bob Edwards Archives — Charlie Summers @ 11:38 am

If you are as sick of people running for office as I am (and after this past exhausting campaign, how can you not?), I thought it might be interesting to learn about people who run just for fun. In 2009, Christopher McDougall visited The Bob Edwards Show and talked with Bob about his book Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen. From the intro:

Christopher McDougall, author of Born to Run, a book that both examines and celebrates running in ways none other has done before. McDougall makes running interesting even to those of us who wouldn’t run unless bad people were chasing us!

This interview is after a chat with Martin Smith about the Frontline documentary, “The Madoff Affair.” Remember when Bernie was the worst scandal in the headlines? Ah, we were so innocent back then…

Entire program and script/roadmap posted below. If there’s a guest interview you’d like to hear again, just let me know in the comments.
