Mose Allison, jazz-blues musician, dead at 89

From The Washington Post: Mose Allison, jazz-blues musician, dead at 89

In October of 2004, on only his second show for XM Satellite Radio, Bob Edwards visited with Mose Allison. From his introduction:

Mose Allison doesn’t spend a lot of time worrying about his place in music history. Record companies never got rich off his sales. None of his tunes ever reached the top of the charts. Still, Allison’s legacy is confirmed every time an admirer like Bonnie Raitt or Pete Townshend covers one of his songs. And there have been many. Allison credits his signature blend of jazz, blues and lyrical wit to his upbringing in the Delta town of Tippo, Mississippi.

That’s in the last segment of the program; this copy of the show came from a DAT recorded in-studio, which is why it sounds so good. Also, of course, I’ve included the program script/roadmap.
