The main feed; in a news aggrigator, it's the news items, in a podcast client, it's the media files.

  • iTunes RSS 2.0

This is the feed for iTunes to load the podcast. Why so difficult and non-standard? Beats's why I use Juice and not iTunes.

This is the feed for global comments (any comment made to the board); each entry has a seperate comments feed, too

The Burglary: The Discovery of J. Edgar Hoover’s Secret FBI

Filed under: News, Radio Today, Bob Edwards Archives — Charlie Summers @ 10:46 am

While James Comey’s FBI is under scrutiny, I thought we’d look back to another era, the days when J. Edgar Hoover ran the FBI with an iron fist, instilling fear in the hearts of citizens and politicians alike. In 2014, Bob Edwards interviewed John and Bonnie Raines and reporter Betty Medsger of the Washington Post; from the introduction:

…I’ll talk with John and Bonnie Raines who have finally come clean about a crime they committed in 1971. They were among the burglers who broke into the FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania, stole the files and gave them to reporters and members of Congress. The files exposed illegal FBI actions against anti-war dissidents and civil rights activists. We’ll also hear from Betty Medsger of the Washington Post who wrote stories based on those files. Her new book on the burglary and the files is titled The Burglary: The Discovery of J. Edgar Hoover’s Secret FBI.

All that is after a conversation with Los Angeles Times Washington columnist Doyle McManus discussing NAFTA in a much more civilized way than in the recent political campaign, and a short look at poet and activist Amiri Baraka.

If there are any shows you’d like to hear again, just let me know!
