RIP Gene Wilder

Filed under: News, Bob Edwards Archives — Charlie Summers @ 6:14 pm

From CNN: Gene Wilder, star of ‘Willy Wonka,’ dead at 83

On March 16th, 2007 Bob Edwards interviewed journalist Ken Silverstein, actor Richard Dreyfuss, and the late actor/author/comedian Gene Wilder - what a day! From his introduction:

I’ll talk with Gene Wilder, one of our best comic actors ever, and he too has headed in a new direction. The onetime screen collaborator with Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor is a writer now. His first novel is titled, My French Whore: A Love Story.

They talk about the book, Gilda Radner, Wilder’s career, and pretty much anything else that comes to mind. I’ve included below the broadcast from March 28th, 2007, and the accompanying script.
