OTR Digest being rejected by AOL again…

Filed under: Old-Time Radio — Charlie Summers @ 8:53 pm

Just a heads-up…the most recent issue of the Digest (#168) was rejected by AOL, who is apparently blocking the IP address of the server. Don’t know how long this one will continue, but if you didn’t receive issue #168, please complain directly to AOL’s “customer service,” since there isn’t anything I can do about it.

This happens occasionally, where one system or another will suddenly decide the Digest is spam. Fortunately, the rest of the subscribers are receiving it; this is local to AOL addresses only.

If you have broadband, you need to read this…

Filed under: News — Charlie Summers @ 12:06 am

From DSLReports: NEWSFLASH: U.S. Broadband Expensive, Uncompetitive
DOUBLE NEWSFLASH: ISPs Have Bribed Government to Make it That Way

From the article: “Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter David Cay Johnston is making the mainstream media rounds this week to promote his new book (via Techdirt)…the short version of his findings: ISP lobbyists have stripped most meaningful consumer and price protection regulations, cut back on broadband expansion, destroyed most of their competitors, and bought off Congress to obtain regulatory capture.”

Wait until you see the United States compared to France…or Bulgaria! Seriously, if you have any interest in the Internet and actually being able to use it, please read this article.
