Daylight, no Savings
As we turn our clocks ahead yet again weeks earlier than the previous early change, let’s all remember why we’re doing it. I was going to paraphrase Fred Allen and suggest it was so some bureaucrat in Washington could save enough daylight he didn’t need to go to Hawaii for vacation, but decided instead to be serious. This nonsense has nothing whatsoever to do with saving energy…indeed some studies suggest an increase of one-to-two percent in energy usage because of the time change. Instead, this is all from lobbying by the outdoor recreation industry - they claim it’s so Americans can lose some of the weight we are constantly gaining, but the plain truth is they want more daylight hours to take your money, never mind the kids that are waiting for school buses in the dark.
(*sigh*) I’m getting old, and will clearly never be rich. But I’m becoming sick to death of a society that values money over everything else - like safety and common sense.

Charlie, I believe you mean “uncommon sense”. Common sense is no longer common. But, I agree with your statement.
