Inconsiderate Business of the Day…
The winner of the Inconsiderate Business of the Day is…
Tuesday Morning at the York Value Center.
This morning the Mrs. and I walked over to the South York Value Center to patronize the businesses there (as we do quite frequently). While walking up the sidewalk, what should we run into but a huge tractor-trailer parked against the curb unloading merchandise. (Apparently the staff, or the driver, or both, were too d*mned lazy to be offloading this in the back of the building where they should have been doing it.) We’re not talking 6:00am here, we’re talking after 9:00am, when the businesses on both sides of this monstrosity were open. This inconsideration required my wife and me to walk around through the parking lot, risking injury (and giving Black Oak Associates, the outfit that owns/operates the place, considerable liability had we been injured), blocking the traffic lanes, the required fire lane…well, you get the idea.
I found it amusing that this is the exact same spot the brochure for the property promotes with a photograph as being so beautiful and attractive to businesses. On their website, Black Oak calls this center a, “pedestrian friendly plaza.” Wanna bet?
Anyway, here’s what we ran into this morning, and why you should probably avoid both Tuesday Morning and the York Value Center:
