PBS Firing of Host of “The Good Night Show” Draws Protests
From The New York Times: PBS Firing of Host of “The Good Night Show” Draws Protests
From the article: “But she [Jenni Glenn, a Sprout spokeswoman] said there was no possibility that the decision would be reversed.” So now we discover that PBS executives are as uncaring of their viewers’ opinions as NPR executives. Like the removal of Bob Edwards as host of NPR’s Morning Edition, this dismissal makes no sense, does no one any good, and again publically-responsible executives find it impossible to admit they made a mistake. I mean, how moronic is it to hold an actresses’ past work against her? What if someone held past work on The Electric Company against Morgan Freeman? “Na, he just does kids shows…”
I cannot tell you how depressing it is to realize that services I have supported for all of my adult life aren’t the least bit deserving. Apparently when an allegedly “public” institution gets big enough, they decide they know more than we do. Time to stop paying any of ‘em…that’s the only way we take back what is supposed to be ours.
