Katie’s Eight Already…

Filed under: General — Charlie Summers @ 2:06 pm

Hard to believe, but it’s been eight years since Annie spent the year in the hospital dealing with pregnancy and cancer, and Katie showed up not-so-unexpectedly eight weeks early. Every year around her birthday, we can’t help but to think back to 1998 and all the “fun stuff” that year, but this year was particularly remindful; Annie had an oncology follow-up appointment last week, where I talked to both her oncologist and her orthopod (or, less slangful, orthopedist; and shout-outs to Drs. Harold Harvey and William Parrish, two of a team of the brightest, kindest, and best physicians I’ve ever run into, and we all know how d*mned hard to please I am).

But right now I don’t have the time to be reflective…there’s this newly-minted eight-year-old who wants pizza for lunch…
