I have a form on The Nostalgia Pages that allows people to contact me. Spammers have tried for years to use it to send out mail (standard hijack stuff…spammers are thieves as well as scammers), but since I’m not an idiot and know how to program, it hasn’t been an issue. No matter what malformed nonsense you send through that form, it comes only to me.

Which is why the most recent spam attempt would be laughable, if it weren’t so d*mned annoying. Seems some non-English-speaking scum has decided that that form is a blog comment form, and is spamming his scam websites through it. Remember, the only person who sees the results of that form is me (and it never ends up in a search page or anywhere else on the site), yet still this moron POSTs “Great Site!” nonsense and collections of scam URLs (surprisingly, the sites appear to be hosted in the US by various providers - I would have expected them to be hosted in Russia or China).

Now understand, I’m having something of a relapse of the illness that took me down last summer, and thanks to the insurance industry it will be a few weeks until I can do anything about it, so holding my temper is becoming more and more difficult as the days pass. Clearly, I need to do something about this nonsense, but I haven’t been clear-headed enough lately to come up with a good plan. So I gripe about it here instead. ;)

Oh, speaking of the relapse, please don’t be too hard on me if I continue to run behind for the next two or three weeks. If you’ve contacted me about something and haven’t heard from me an a few days, gently remind me. I’m not trying to ignore anyone, I’m simply running into a massive defecit of time. Thanks.
