I completely agree with you post - I could care less about sports programming as I listen primarily to talk and news. You are also correct in stating the online offering it of no benefit to me; yet we all pay for it.

It's a good thing I went with the other guys then. I wasn't particularly thrilled with the idea of DJs reading me song information on the big ten channels that I'm perfectly capable of reading for myself from my own LCD display. Three other factors:

- Sirius has better coastal signal strength
- Sirius doesn't charge extra to listen to broadcasts over the internet
- Sirius carries EWTN

No clue what you're talking about referencing DJs; XM doesn't generally use them, at least on the music channels I listen to, although I've heard that Sirus uses a lot of human talk on their music channels. As to the rest of your comments:

1) I don't live on the coast,

2) Either does XM,

3) No interest whatsoever for me; if I wanted religionradio, I'd still listen to shortwave,

4) Sirius supports NPR, which I do NOT. Only XM has The Bob Edwards Show. --cfs3

Update 23 June 2005: I am currently sitting in a condo a short two-minute walk from the Atlantic Ocean, and my Roady2 with indoor antenna is having no problem - as I tupe this, I am listening to the 9:00 pm eastern rebroadcast of The Bob Edwards Show.

Since this building is about as "coastal" as it gets, I think we can put to bed at last the implication that XM doesn't have acceptable coastal coverage. --cfs3

I agree: I've never understood the rxtreme fascination with sports! It is amazing and mystifying how people can become so obssessed, sports becomes like a religion to them. What really sets me off is organized sports, all geared up to make the most dollar from their spectators. For me, the entire thing is boring and often disgusting.
