From The Seattle Post-Intelligencier: Bob Edwards, who recently was removed as host of National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” after nearly a quarter-century, is leaving the network to start a new morning show for distribution on satellite radio.

Hot-diggities! Now I can take the money I would have sent to support NPR stations and use it to purchase an XM radio and subscription! And actually be able to hear once again in the mornings, “I’m Bob Edwards!”

Sam Edwards, actor in countless Old-Time Radio programs and friend to many of us over the years who met and talked with him at OTR conventions, passed away this morning (Wednesday) around 9:20 MDT according to his son, Bill. His final performance was at the recent REPS Showcase 2004 in Seattle, WA. (Photos to come over the next days and weeks.)
