CDs and DVDs not so immortal after all

From USA Today: It’s not known for sure how common “CD rot” is, but it’s just one of a number of reasons that optical discs, including DVDs, may be a lot less long-lived than first thought.

    Hey - we knew CD’s, those small cheap little plastic things, were NEVER going to be immortal - since the big, heavy, expensive LASAR discs were already going bad by 1987!
