Sorry…I’ve been a little busy…

Filed under: Old-Time Radio — Charlie Summers @ 10:00 pm

I know, I know, I haven’t been updating as often as I’d like. But I’ve been having so darned much fun at the Cincy con, it’s hard to make the time!

I have a boatload of pics, and I will be getting some posted before I go to bed (promise - found out the hotel has high-speed wireless Internet access, so no dial-up slowdowns!!!), but we need to get out and grab a bite to eat before I do. An hour or two, promise!

Morning at the Cincy Con

Filed under: Old-Time Radio — Charlie Summers @ 2:05 pm

Spent the morning wandering around having a great time visiting with lots of old friends, meeting new friends, and having a ball. I am a little ticked off at Martin Grams, though…he sold out of Jack French’s new book before I got signed in!

I haven’t had much time to take many photos (the recreation casting call is set for three this afternoon, when I’ll get candids of the tryouts), but here’s a couple just to whet your appitite…the first is Dan Hugues Hughes chatting with Chuck Schaden, broadcaster and author of “Speaking of Radio.” The second is our friend Fred Berney talking to Barry Hill…probably about DVDs or sumsuch.

Looking forward to the recreations later this evening!

Cincinnati, We’re Ready!

Filed under: Old-Time Radio — Charlie Summers @ 12:16 am

After a long but pleasent drive, we’re here. I’ve already seen Hal Stone (who always liked Annie best anyway), Bob Burchett, Fred Berney, Chuck Schaden, and a bunch others…and that’s only while checking in to the hotel! I can’t wait to see everyone else tomorrow when the convention officially starts!

For those of you interested in the News or General categories, I’m afraid you’re going to be a little disappointed for the next few days; I’ll try to check out a story or two, but the next couple days are dedicated to Old-Time Radio!
