More on Hal and Dorothy’s Visit

Filed under: Old-Time Radio — Charlie Summers @ 11:31 pm

As I mentioned yesterday, Hal and Dorothy Stone stopped by on their way to Cincinnati. Our five-year-old daughter, Katie, couldn’t wait to meet the guy who wrote that blue book in Dad’s office, and darnitall, he didn’t disappoint - by the end of the evening the two of ‘em were thick as thieves.

As you can see, they even collaborated on art. And Uncle Hal made sure he supplied her with her first Shirley Temple…it was almost unnerving to see the little redhead sitting at the restaurant bar sipping the thing.

Annie and I will see Dorothy and Hal next weekend at the Cincy con, but Katie’s already making plans to visit Sedona. I hope like the devil she doesn’t decide to try hitchhiking…

And there is already an ugly rumor circulating on the Net that there was imbibing involved. I have no idea how I got this undeserved reputation, but I can truthfully say I did not sit at the bar with the rest of them…
